There are three reasons why you went off the road today1. The State of Maine and the City of Auburn is at fault for allowing a road to be travelled with such a HIGH CROWN. 2. The Lake Auburn Watershed Protection Commission (LAWPC) is at fault for needed to limited use of salt 3. You are at fault for excessive speed (even though you are well below the posted speed limit.) What can you do? Write to the addresses below, THEY ARE 2/3rds responsible for why you are in the ditch with damage to your car and well being. Auburn City Council Maine DOT If 1 & 2 had not occurred, you WOULD NOT BE IN THE DITCH TODAY. We are ttruly sorry for your trouble and our organization will find a means to help!
Attention Fuel Delivery Truck/other HAZMAT VehiclesThe Lake Auburn Watershed Neighborhood Association (LAWNA) would like to remind the driver’s of the dangers associated with the roads around Lake Auburn, our community’s water supply. The North Auburn Road and Lake Shore Drive are Federal-Aid Urban collector highways that are NOT IN SATISFACTORY condition. In fact, there are excessive crowns, road perforations, improperly signed on curves, culvert and frost heaves, low shoulders and inappropriate speed limits that could cause your vehicle to deviate from your intended path. EXTREME CAUTION SHOULD BE USED BY UTILIZING SLOWER SPEEDS UNTIL ROAD REPAIRS CAN BE SCHEDULED! ONE ACCIDENT/ROLL OVER COULD EASILY POLLUTE OUR WATER SUPPLY AND CAUSE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN DAMAGE TO THIS PUBLIC RESOURCE and our environment.
We would like your cooperation by leaving this notice in the cab of your vehicle and by displaying our bumper sticker, www.auburnwatershed.org on your rear bumper. Thank you for your efforts and professional courtesy. For bumper stickers please contact LAWNA. For more information you can contact our lake association or others listed below.
